The historic ensemble of Dhamnar is part of the Tentative list of India in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
The historic ensemble of Dhamnar comprises a group of 51 rock-cut monuments with mostly Buddhist structures and a Hindu temple complex. They date from the 5th-7th century CE. Most notable are the large statues of Gautama Buddha in sitting and Nirvana positions.
